Josey invited us kind of last minute to go to their family’s property in Salina for Memorial Day Weekend. We were still a bit exhausted from our trip to London, but thought, “What the heck? Let’s get summer started!”
We cooked hotdogs over the fire, Dave and Joe hit some golf balls, we rode ATVs and the kids played together. Their family has a bunch of trailers and an old cabin. Our family slept in the cabin. I was so surprised but also proud of Simon for sleeping in there. I put him down when it was dark and then went out to sit around the campfire for a while before going to bed too. I’m not gonna lie, I was even scared in that old cabin but Simon was just like, “good night, mama!” He’s braver than me.
