My Film Cameras

unnamedcamera 3 camera4camera2.These cameras mean a lot to me. The first one on the left was my grandma’s old film camera that she used for home videos. There is actually still film in there that I keep meaning to develop and hope it hasn’t been exposed. It is so cool for me to picture her and my grandpa using it when they had young kids at home. The next camera was a gift from one of my best friends. She thrifted it in California because she knew I had a little collection. I wish I knew what that camera has seen. The polaroid camera was my dad’s went he was younger. I use that one today and it still works like a charm. The last one was my uncle’s that he used when he was a chef during the Vietnam war.

I keep these little guys on my desk in my apartment and one of my art classes led me to turning them into a project. I drew out some sketches, took some very high quality pictures of them, uploaded them into photoshop, played around with it for a bit and, voilà, they turned out perfectly for my room. I even had them printed onto metal sheets and I couldn’t be more pleased. I think it is so important to fill my personal space with personal things and cool art I made or made by people I know. It makes my space so much more interesting.
