It’s not even technically summer yet, but we are already doing summery things! I hope we keep that up all summer long.
Dave has had hiking Angel’s Landing on his bucket list for a few summers now and we have never gotten around to doing it until now.
A few weeks ago we bought a tent (which we are pretty stoked about!!). Now that we have one, I’m making it a goal to visit all of the national parks in Utah. People come from all over the world to visit them and I am disappointed in myself that I have not taken advantage of being so close!
Seriously! This is the state I’m from!
Weeping Rock^ The water seeps out directly from the rock.
Coincidentally, Daniel had been planning on going camping the same weekend, but his friends bailed the night before. So, since he was still all packed, we invited him literally last minute to come with us.
Totally out of focus, but still a fun picture. Also, somehow my camera was shooting JPEG instead of RAW so the pictures don’t look as nice.. I hate when that happens..

Proof we got a tent. It’s a three person tent (Daniel slept in a hammock tho), so we had plenty of room. I can’t wait to see what other memories we get with that tent.

Okay, so the next morning we got up and started up Angel’s Landing. It’s a notoriously dangerous hike. Someone actually fell off and died a week or two before we hiked it. The first half of the hike is relatively easy and safe. This photo of Dave is where the easy part ends and the hard part starts. Many people stop right here and don’t dare continuing on.
This is a better photo of the scary part. It’s a sheer, narrow ridge that is heavily trafficked. Honestly, I would have had much more peace of mind if we weren’t trying to pass everyone going the opposite direction. Many parts of the hike have a chain for you to hang on to. It’s scary to let go of it and let someone go around you.
But we made it! The view is pretty incredible!

Honestly it wasn’t that scary as long as you’re careful.
Along with the tent, I got some new hiking boots. So I’m sure there will be much more adventures like this in the next few months:)
