Gothenburg, Sweden

We went to Sweden! This will be one of a couple posts but this one is all about our time in Gothenburg.

I gotta start by saying how good of a little traveler Simon is. A flight to Europe is no joke with an 11-month-old. I mean traveling in general is hard and requires a lot of patience… even for a 27-year-old 🙃 We were up in the middle of the night the first couple nights and even went on walks outside. Jet lag sucks, especially when you’re already struggling with insomnia😳 Story for another time.

Super glad we brought the stroller all the way here just for Simon to refuse to sit in it.

We went with Dave’s family. His Grandma is half Swedish. This was one of the only foreign places we’ve been that people first tried to speak with us in their language and not English. They can all definitely pass as Swedes – and Simon too.

^Simon loves music and will bust a move to anything.

Visiting some family history sites. ^Here they are on the dock where their ancestors left on a boat to emigrate to America.

In Gothenburg we stayed right next to an amusement park called Liseberg. One evening Dave and Daniel rode a couple roller coasters and Simon and I went as moral support.

Dave practiced Swedish everyday for months before going. He’s become quite the Duolingo enthusiast.
