Charleston, SC! This was my first time to the south and my oh my was it charming. We brought Simon along and took a slow pace. We mustered up all the patience we had and although it was totally depleted sometimes, I’d say it was worth. He gets giddy about hotels and having our attention all day. No cooking or cleaning, just walking around and playing at every stop is Simon’s kind of day.
Fun Fact: Dave had a southern accent as a child because he was born in Louisiana.
White Point Garden^
We took a walking tour of Charleston and it was so fascinating. Tours like that can be a hit or a miss but Dave and I were into it haha. Simon wasn’t so much though, so Dave and I would alternate at each stop. One would listen to what the tour guide had to say and the other would follow Simon around. Then as we would move to the next stop we would frantically fill each other in on what we missed. Did you know that Charleston was the biggest/richest colonial city, pre-America? So much history here!
After the tour we had lunch at Husk. Southern food🤤
After that we wandered to the famous Pineapple Fountain. This is one of my favorite memories from the whole trip. Watching Simon splash around in the water. So many people commented on how cute Simon was and I’m like “I KNOW!!”
