“Hello in there, baby sister!”
At 13 weeks I took a genetic test to find out the gender of our baby. We didn’t do it with Simon, but decided to do it with baby #2. After a week, they got back to me about all the genetics but the nurse who filled out our paperwork didn’t mark that we wanted to find out the gender. Ugh! So they said they would resubmit our paperwork and would test it again. Almost two weeks went by and I started to feel like they had forgotten about us. So I called, and sure enough, they had forgotten. Ugh! So then they said they would run the test. But time went by and I went to my next doctor’s appointment (where they weren’t planning on doing an ultrasound). We told my doc, the doctor’s office called again and said they forgot to do ours. Ugh! But luckily my doctor said he would do an ultrasound to find the gender. He and the professional ultrasound tech checked and we found out she’s a girl!!!! Later that day my genetic test results came back and confirmed she is indeed a girl.
I’m excited to see what our family will be like with a little girl. I can’t wait to meet her!
Simon will frequently talk about his baby sister. I don’t think he can possibly understand how his life will change when she comes, but he already wants to play with her.
We got this little mouse for her when we went to Moab that he calls “Mousey Mousey” and knows it’s for her. When we ask him what her name should be, he says, “Penny.” Not sure where he got that from and don’t know how he’ll take it when she has a different name haha. For now, her name is Baby Sister.
