Last Saturday I got a phone call from my parents and my dad told me that my Grandpa George had passed away. It’s extremely sad because we are still quarantined and we weren’t allowed to see him for the past few weeks. It just seems like a disappointing end to his life and I’m sad I didn’t get to say bye. They did however let one person go in to see him, which was my aunt Melissa. Melissa said he died when she was talking to him about his grandchildren. Perhaps the thing he loved most in life.
In the last few years, for some reason, he talked many times about going to Antelope Island with us and, of course, Dairy Queen. So that day, Dave and I did just that to honor him.
He died the day before Easter. My Grandpa Ellis died around Easter last year and it is a precious reminder that because of our Savior, I will get to see my grandpas again.
I’m going to do a separate post all about Grandpa George, but for now, here are some photos from that day.
There were a lot of bugs that liked our scalps and our heads have itched all week.

Grandpa George loved DQ. I posted this photo to my instagram talking about my Grandpa George and so many of my friends mentioned their fond memories of Grandpa George taking us to Dairy Queen. DQ will forever have a special place in my heart. I couldn’t get through this whole blizzard without crying.
I’ll miss you til we meet again Grandpa!
