Christmas this year was really fun with a toddler around. I got Simon a chocolate advent calendar and our neighbors gave us a coloring advent calendar to really get excited for the big day. We saw lots of Christmas lights, went to the Kriskindlmarkt at This is the Place and spent good time with family and friends.
The night before Christmas Eve we hung out at our house, watched a Christmas movie and let Simon open one present which was the book The Night Before Christmas.
Simon grabbed the camera and started clicking away. Above are some of his best^
Gonna have another one of these little ornaments on our tree next year!
We then spent Christmas Eve at Dave’s parents’ house. These were the cookies we left under the tree for Santa. Dave’s aunt brought a Santa costume and Dave’s grandma put it on and pretended to be Santa eating cookies and delivering presents. We got Simon to peak into the door for just a couple seconds at the right moment so he thought it was really Santa Claus. His face was so shocked.
And he made sure everyone got a bite of cookie.
After Simon went to sleep we set up his Santa presents. He asked for candy so we made sure there was plenty of candy plus a few other gifts^
In the morning, Simon was especially excited to see that Santa had eaten the cookies. He was happy with each new toy and it took him some convincing to open another one.
^What? How did Santa know he wanted the book Dig it Digby??
I didn’t take many pictures at my parents’ house, but we went there Christmas evening and did presents there too. Sime got a cool ambulance.
