Building Our New Home

We are so stoked for our house to be completed—hopefully by the end of the year! It has taller ceilings, lots of light, a master bath with a double vanity and so many other things we currently do not have.

It was a whirlwind trying to buy another house in this market. We had put a few other offers in to other places with no luck. One Saturday this spring, our realtor said we had two accepted offers on the same day —a miracle within itself. I had really been hoping to get the other house we put an offer on accepted, but when we found out this one was accepted too, I was a little confused. We only had an hour or two to decide but we both quickly started feeling like this one was the one. Now it’s securely ours we feel very fortunate!

It’s been so fun driving over there and checking up on the progress. It’s currently all framed! Next step: plumbing, electrical and drywall. I can’t tell you how relieving it is that we won’t have to do any of that with this house. Our almost 80-year-old Sugar House house has given us some PTSD with that sort of thing.

These photos below were from this spring when it was still an empty lot. Can’t wait for all the memories to come!
