We spent a day in El Yunque National Rainforest. It’s the only rainforest in the United States and has lots of options for hikes, waterfalls, and other pretty views. It was reminding me of when we did the Road to Hana in Hawaii.
It’s very hard to jump with a baby in the belly.
This was my favorite stop. Dave went here years ago with his friends and he really wanted to take me to it. He said the hurricane must have changed it, but it was a nice river with rocks to sit on. I wasn’t going to get in, but thought I would regret it if I didn’t. And I’m so glad I did because it was the most peaceful scene. It felt as relaxing as a spa. On our way out it started raining really hard (it really is a rainforest) and I’m so glad we got those quiet moments together.
Later that night we did a sunset kayaking tour in a bioluminescent bay. We didn’t take any cameras, but our guide did take these photos of us. Although it would have been hard to take pictures of the water lighting up anyway, we were pretty bummed we left our cameras in the car. But sometimes when you don’t bring your camera is when it feels all the more special. And it was. It was so magical. Dave was freaking out at how cool the glittery water was. It was a reminder that some of the most special memories don’t need pictures. I took many mental pictures I’ll remember for the rest of my life!
