I must have been feeling ambitious (and not 24 weeks pregnant) when I planned for us to walk from our hotel near Condado Beach and meander all the way to the tip of Old San Juan. It was the blisters that were the worst part though haha but I can barely even remember that now and my memories are of how cool of a place it is!
My parents have been here twice now and they sent us a photo scavenger hunt of pictures they took when they were here for us to recreate. It was fun looking for the exact viewpoint of some places like La Perla or the skinniest house in San Juan or the Cementerio Santa María Magdalena de Pazzi.
^^ For example, my dad’s photo and Dave’s recreation. Leg crossed, holding the backpack😂 It’s so good.
A memory for what it was like traveling during (the end) of the Covid pandemic.
This photo does not do this view justice. We had just walked along La Muralla and right before we would have gotten to this view a guard was just about to close the gate and we would have had to walk all the way back. Luckily we were right in time. It was Mother’s Day so we Facetimed our moms (perk of traveling to Puerto Rico is cell service) from the grassy field.
It was crazy windy and a storm blew in right after. It felt like one of those fake movie scenes where the rain immediately starts as a down pour. I started running even though I didn’t know where to but then I saw people start gathering under a bridge. We waited for the rain to lighten up and then took an uber back. There was no way I was walking all the way back in the rain!
